Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz was in Skopje today where he urged citizens of this country to participate in the referendum and vote in favour of the deal reached with Greece. Kurz made these comments in a meeting with PM Zoran Zaev.
“I’m happy that I’m in Skopje again. The solution of the name dispute represents a new dynamic for the country and the region. I invite citizens of this country to participate in the referendum and vote in favour of the country’s accession in the EU”, Kurz said.
Asked about the position of the largest opposition party VMRO-DPMNE, Kurz said that this political party should be driven by the European perspective and support the solution of the name dispute.
“As a friend of your country and as chancellor of an EU member country, I think that participation in the referendum will be the best solution ”, underlined the Austrian chancellor.
On his party, PM Zoran Zaev thanked the Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz for the support given by him.
“Your visit is a big encouragement for us ahead of the September 30th referendum, in which citizens will vote for their future”, said PM Zaev, expressing his conviction that the referendum will be successful. /ibna/
