The Kremlin announced Putin’s visit to Athens

President of Russia Vladimir Putin will be in Greece on Friday and Saturday (May 27-28).

Indeed, the Kremlin issued an announcement of the visit of the Russian president, in which it is suggested that he will meet with Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Alexis Tsipras.

According to the same communication, the “meetings will focus on the key areas of bilateral cooperation in trade, economy and investment, including joint projects in energy and transport”.

“Special emphasis will also be given to humanitarian and cultural cooperation, in the framework of the mutual Year of Greece and the Year of Russia that began in January 2016, and the celebrations in 2016 for the 1,000 years of Russian presence in the Holy Mountain”, writes the statement, and concludes that “there will be an exchange of views on current international and regional issues”.
