For the continuation of the recession with a possible extension of the memorandum warns, in a written statement, the president of DIMAR, Fotis Kouvelis, who criticises the government for its handling in the case.
“Extension of the Memorandum means extension of its policies, and traps the country into recession, increase of unemployment and seriously wounded social cohesion”, says Kouvelis and adds that “what is taking place in Paris and what is being prepared in Athens demonstrates how real is the narrative of the “success story” and the government bombasts on the end of the memoranda”.
He also refers to the stance of the Troika as unacceptable, since – as he notes – it reproduces the known neoliberal fanaticism, leading things in the extremes with its cruelty and undermines the European cohesion and calls on the government to make it clear to lenders that the limits and strengths of the Greek people have long since been exhausted and to understand that the maintenance of the implemented policies encourages new demands on the part of the Troika.
In a similar statement after the meeting with the administration of the Professional Chamber of Athens, the President of DIMAR noted that the persistence of the Troika demonstrates ideological fanaticism that leads to the dissolution of society.
He reiterated his position that the debt needs national understanding and common approach, and stressed the need to support SMEs to gradually tackle unemployment.
