The importance of foreign policy for the country’s future emphasized Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, in the ceremony of cutting the New Year cake held at the ministry Thursday.
Addressing the employees of the ministry, Kotzias stressed the importance of collective work and invited them to submit their ideas and initiatives. “Despite the difficulties we face, we must redouble our efforts”, he added, noting that each proposal, each legal position with many directions, all that is small and every day, can be very important and contribute to the country’s future . “Remember that the future of the country and the daily life of its citizens depends on your own attitude and initiatives”, he said.
As the Minister of Foreign Affairs explained, “in the past year we have had an active policy, we reintroduced the country to the Middle East and the Balkans, we have developed alliances, we took initiatives with the CBM in Skopje to the issue of guarantees in Cyprus, we have developed many areas of diplomacy, such as the religious”.
“This year will have a lot of success for us all. We will defend our homeland and the rights and potential of the country”, Kotzias concluded.
The ceremony was attended by the deputy minister responsible for European Affairs, Nikos Xydakis and deputy ministers Dimitris Mardas and Ioannis Amanatidis.
