President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, who is in Brussels on an official visit, has met with the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schultz. During this meeting, Thaci briefed Mr. Shchultz on the latest developments in Kosovo, stressing the work that the country is doing for the liberalization of the visa regime.
Thaci has also focused on the issue of the scrapping of the visa regime, by saying that Kosovo has met all the necessary criteria.
The president of the country said that Kosovo remains engaged in further consolidating the state, while thanking president Schultz for his engagement, that of the EU rapporteur, Tanja Fajon and the European Parliament for the constant support and for the advancement of the liberalization of visas for Kosovo.
On his part, President of the European Parliament, Martin Schultz, said that the liberalization of the visa regime is the main topic that concerns Kosovo in its relations with the EU.
He expressed his conviction that the decision on Kosovo will be taken based on its engagement to deliver all the criteria for the liberalization of visas.
During his stay in Brussels, Thaci will also be received by the EU head of diplomacy, Federica Mogherini. /balkaneu.com/
