Kosovo’s population goes up by 21,407 residents

Agency of the Statistics of Kosovo (ASK) has published the report on population in 2013.

ASK will continue to issue this report each year, in order to have a sequence of demographic indicators over the changes on a territorial level.

The data base for the evaluation of the population in 2013 has been created by using numbers from the resident population of Kosovo at the end of 2012, birth rate, death rate and movement of population outside Kosovo.

For 2013, population of Kosovo was 1,820,630 as opposed to 2012 when the population was 1,815,606 residents.

The natural growth of the population in Kosovo has gone up by 21,407 people. The number of births in Kosovo for 2013 was 29,724, while the number of deaths was 8,317.

Meanwhile, the number of people who have returned to Kosovo in 2013 was 3,864 residents, while the number of Kosovar emigrants was 20,246.

This publication also shows the internal movements of the population (from one commune to another), amounting to 9,330 people. /ibna/
