Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo has voted on Monday afternoon, following a marathon session, in favor of the constitutional amendments that enable the creation of the Special Tribunal for War Crimes.
The proposal of the government of Kosovo received 82 votes in favor, 5 votes against and one abstain.
The proceedings were associated by debates and accusations. Some political forces considered those members of the government who brought the proposals as traitors.
The approval of the creation of the Special Tribunal which will try the suspicions for war crimes committed by the Kosovo Liberation Army, follows international pressure, especially by the USA and EU.
This was the second time that the parliament of Kosovo voted these changes, following the failure of the June 26 session, in the absence of 5 votes in the 100 seat parliament. /ibna/
