Parliament of Kosovo passed today with 58 votes in favor and 7 abstains the bill for the prevention of money laundering and fight and financing of terrorism.
This bill was passed, although Naser Osmani MP, said that the bill is not in harmony with EU laws.
“In meetings held with experts of the EU Office it has been said that this bill is not in line with EU directives. Recommendations have been given, but since we haven’t had lots of time at our disposal, we could not incorporate the amendments. I recommend to the Ministry of Finance to propose the amendments”, Osmani said.
With the approval of this bill, Kosovo completes a part of its legislation that prevents and fights terrorism.
Law enforcement agencies in Kosovo say that at least 14 NGOs were shut down a year ago, suspected of supporting and funding extremist and terrorist acts of particular individuals. /balkaneu.com/
