A few days ago, government of Kosovo approved the 2015 budget, while the budget is expected to be discussed and voted by parliament until the end of December. But, the opposition is skeptic as to whether the budget will be able to be discussed in such a short time by MPs.
Although next week, parliament of Kosovo will hold two plenary sessions, it’s still not known when the budget will be discussed. Adem Grabovci from PDK says that there’s a possibility for another session to be held at the end of the week.
“In the next session, the approval of the 2015 budget will be in the order of the day. I believe that the budget for next year will be introduced in the first session that parliament of Kosovo will have after the constitution of parliamentary committees”, said Grabovci.
Opposition parties say that there’s an urgent need to discuss the budget. Donika Kadaj-Bujupi from AAK said that: “Unfortunately, the budget will not be discussed in any of the next two sessions. As we can see, it was more important to accommodate the interests of the two coalition partners than the coalition of the citizens. This process may take a long time, because there’s no will to proceed any further”.
Following the agreement between PDK and LDK for the governing coalition and the constitution of institutions, it has been said that next year’s budget will be one of the main priorities, alongside the voting of other important bills. /ibna/
