Kosovo’s national football squad will play this afternoon in the “Adem Jashari” Olympic Stadium of Mitrovica against the national football team of Turkey. This is the second international match for Kosovo, which will be monitored by FIFA.
The Turkish coach, Fatih Terim has considered the match against Kosovo as a brotherly match, where the result will not really matter.
Terim said that the match will be a good message for FIFA in order for Kosovo to be accepted as soon as possible in the world sport family.
Kosovo’s coach has considered the match against Turkey as a difficult one, but he’s convinced that with the support of fans, Kosovo can win against Turkey.
“It will be difficult, because Turkey has a lot of quality, but I believe that the atmosphere in the stadium will be a good one. Along with the fans, I believe that we will do a good job and we want to win”, says Bunjaku.
The Kosovar midfielder, Kristian Nushi considers the match against Turkey as a difficult one.
He says that Turkey is a strong team and that the majority of this team’s players participate in the Champions League.
On the other hand, Nushi says that every player is extremely motivated to play against Kosovo.
“The match against Turkey doesn’t need a lot of comments, because we all know the sort of national team Turkey has and the fact that many of its players play every year in the Champions League. We expect a strong Turkey and a very strong team. Playing for Kosovo, regardless of whom you play against, gives you a lot of motivation”, says Nushi.
Ylli Hoxha, midfielder who plays for Kukesi FC, is one of the new players who will play in the friendly matches against Turkey and Senegal.
The midfielder from Pristina says that he’s excited that he was called in by coach Albert Bunjaku. He says that he will do his best not to let the coach down.
“It will be a difficult match, but we will give all that we have. We are very motivated and this is a very good thing”, says Hoxha.
How can Turkey help
Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj has held meetings on Tuesday with the coaches and players of the national teams of Kosovo and Turkey, who on Wednesday, will play a friendly match in the “Adem Jashari” stadium in Mitrovica.
Enver Hoxhaj praised the importance that this match has for the internationalization of sport and this match in particular.
The minister also met with the head of the Turkish Football Federation, Yildrim Demiroren. Hoxahj demanded for Turkey to have an impact in order for Kosovo to be involved in important international competitions. /ibna/
