Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj has met in Strasbourg the Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs of the EU, Dimitris Avramopolous to discuss the issue of the lifting of the visa regime for the citizens of Kosovo.
In this meeting with Avramopoulos, who is one of the biggest supporters for the lifting of the visa regime for Kosovo, Hoxhaj briefed him on the domestic developments and the engagement of the government of Kosovo to meet its obligations.
Meanwhile, minister Hoxhaj has also demanded a positive decision in the weeks to come, as soon as these criteria are met.
“In the meeting that I had with Commissioner Avramopolous and many other MEPs, we have pledged that the citizens of Kosovo will travel without visas to Europe at the moment when the country delivers the last criteria remaining”, Hoxhaj said.
On his part, Avramopolous declared that he strongly believes that the last kilometer toward Europe without visas will not last that long. /balkaneu.com/
