Kosovo’s Foreign Minister: More cooperation between Kosovo and Greece

Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj demands the finalization of negotiations for the Stabilization and Association Agreement during the Greek presidency of the EU.

Mr. Hoxhaj has revealed for the media the demands put forward to authorities of Athens in the meeting that he had yesterday (19.02) with Evangelos Venizellos, deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Greece.

Deputy prime minister Venizellos leads the presidency of Greece in the European Union Council.

During his first official visit to Kosovo in the framework of the tour launched in several Western Balkan countries, Mr. Venizelos had a meeting (photo) with his Kosovar’s counterpart where they addressed important issues affecting the two countries and the region in general.

Mr. Hoxhaj says that he demanded further Greek support by Mr. Venizelos for the liberalization of visas for the citizens of Kosovo.

Foreign minister of Kosovo also demanded Greece’s support for the accession of Kosovo in regional organizations, especially in the South Eastern Europe Cooperation Process.

During this meeting, Venizellos praised the achievements of Kosovo, by expressing the support of Greece for the European processes in Kosovo.

Meanwhile, minister Hoxhaj has expressed the engagement of Kosovo to further strengthen relations and bilateral exchanges with Greece.

Hoxhaj and Venizelos also talked about the intensification of communication between the two foreign ministries in terms of foreign affairs.

Meanwhile, Hoxhaj and Venizelos agreed on strengthening institutional cooperation between Greece and Kosovo, boosting up economic cooperation and on holding of an economic cooperation in Thessalonica. /ibna/
