Former leader of Self Determination, Albin Kurti, declared today that Kosovo needs a “third republic”, which according to him, is the republic of change and development.
In debate organized by Speak Movement, Kurti said that Kosovo needs a left wing party and a social democratic model in government.
“For 15 years in a row, the country is being governed by right wing parties and the people are forced to leave the country. The two republics that we’ve had so far have only caused division among the citizens. But, the greatest division is being caused by Brussels’ talks, which is being done in the wrong way”, Kurti said.
Kurti said that the best approach for this dialogue is to engage in talks with the Serbs of Kosovo in order not to have divisions between Serbs and Albanians of Kosovo.
Former leader of Self Determination has also talked about the establishment of the Special Tribunal, a tribunal which will try the allegations over former members of Kosovo Liberation Army.
Kurti, the party of which has warned that it will not vote in favor of the creation of this tribunal in parliament, believes that the UN Security Council cannot handle the establishment of the Special Tribunal, because UNMIK is the one that must first deal with it.
Kurti also expressed his astonishment with the fact that foreign embassies have not reacted following efforts of the commune of Ranillug to name a street of this commune after the former Serb president, Slobodan Milosevic, who died in Hague before a ruling was issued by the court for him. /ibna/
