Kosovo should deliver the economic criteria set out by the European Union, in order to become part of the EU’s market. This was declared by the EU representative to Pristina, Nataliya Apostolova.
These comments were made after she was handed the annual report of the government of Kosovo for economic reforms for the period.
According to Apostolova, the economic criteria set out by the EU imply a functional market economy, which has the necessary capacities of facing competition within the EU’s market.
“The program of economic reforms is a very important process for the EU. It is the main pillar of economic governance”, Apostolova said.
She has reminded the government of Kosovo that the delivery of economic criteria is the main requirement for accession in the European Union.
The program for economic reforms includes structural dialogue on economic governance as part of institutional cooperation between Kosovo and the European Union.
The minister of Finance of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza said that this year, this program is in line with the instructions and criteria set out by the European Commission.
“We’re fully aware that we have a long way ahead of us in order to achieve the standards of the economies of EU member countries”, Hamza said. /balkaneu.com/
