Delegations from Kosovo and Serbia have started their talks in Brussels and the main topic of these talks is Kosovo’s telephone country code.
According to a press release issued by the office of the minister for Dialogue in the government of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri, Kosovo’s delegation led by minister Tahiri has started the talks regarding the telecom and these talks will last until 29 September.
“The main topic of these talks is the telephone code for Kosovo and the talks will focus on all the steps that need to be finalized in order for Kosovo to receive its country code +383 by the International Telecommunication Union”, the press release says.
Meanwhile, minister Tahiri said that “the European Union has called for the agreement on the telecom to be applied as the parties have agreed earlier and the European Union has called on the sides to apply what they’ve agreed on in Brussels”.
The talks on the telecom aim at giving Kosovo an international country code by ITU and the regulation of the way the telephone operator functions in the northern part of Kosovo, which is dominated by the Serb community. /balkaneu.com/
