Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj has declared today in Belgrade that Kosovo and Serbia must sign a peace agreement, before the latter becomes an EU member.

Hoxhaj made these comments before the start of the conference of foreign and economy ministers of the region which is being held today in Belgrade.

“This obligatory agreement which is mentioned by the EU, for us implies nothing else but a peace agreement”, declared Hoxhaj at the start of the meeting.

He added that the process of the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia must be finalized with the accession of Kosovo in the UNO and that Belgrade must not block such process.

According to him, both sides must enter diplomatic relations with each other.

“Kosovo will manage to solve all pending issues with Serbia within a period of three to five years”, said Hoxhaj.

Meanwhile, speaking about the incident that led to the suspension of the football match between Serbia and Albania in Belgrade, Hoxhaj said that this showed once again the fragility of the situation in the Balkan region. /ibna/
