Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci and his Serb counterpart, Ivica Dacic, resume talks today (12.02) with the brokerage of the senior representative of the European Union, Baroness Catherine Ashton. These talks will focus on the justice system in the north of Kosovo.
Authorities in Pristina insist upon “a unique system of justice in the north of the country”.
This stance has also been taken today by Mr. Thaci, who said that “talks continue on the justice system in the north of the country, which must function under the laws of the Republic of Kosovo”.
Mr. Thaci says that the meeting with the counterpart from Serbia will also focus on the implementation of that part of the April 11 agreement, which relates to the justice system.
“I insist on an agreement for the modalities of the dissolution of illegal structures in the justice system and their integration in the legal system of the Republic of Kosovo”, said Mr. Thaci, adding that “I hope that such agreement will be reached”.
Authorities in Belgrade insist on finding “a practical solution which will take into account the peculiarity of the communes in the north. /ibna/
