The Serb community in Kosovo may create another new Serb commune, the 11th in a row.

Nenad Rashic, MP of the Serb List in Kosovo’s parliament, says that in the recent days, there have been talks in relation to this issue.

In this context, four villages: Prilluzha, Plemetin, Babin Most and Grace, would form the new commune. These villages currently belong to the commune of Vushtri and commune of Obiliq.

However, Rashic denies that this has been a condition by the Serb List in exchange of its support for the election of Hashim Thaciu as the new president of Kosovo.

According to him, if there’s a will, then such thing can be finalized by the end of the year.

It is still not known whether the ten MPs of the Serb List have voted in favor of Hashim Thaci, as the voting was secret, but what’s certain is that their presence in parliament has enabled the necessary quorum for Thaci’s election as the new president of Kosovo.

Institutions of Kosovo do not rule out the possibility of the creation of a new commune in Kosovo, with a Serb majority, while they deny that such thing may have been conditioned by the Serb List for Thaci’s election as a president.

Bajram Gecaj, deputy minister of Local Government says that there will be a feasibility study about the creation of new communes in order for them to be functional and for them not to have the problems that other communes have at the moment. /ibna/
