Kosovo is requesting Cyprus to extradite an Israeli citizen who is accused as head of a ring which was in charge of the recruitment of organ donors and the identification of kidney recipients.
Moshe Harel, who was arrested on 5 January in Cyprus, is accused of recruiting 20 people from Moldova, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey, who are claimed to have been promised 20 thousand US each in exchange of their kidneys, while the recipients were asked to pay 80 thousand to 100 thousand USD. The person in question was declared wanted in 2010.
Kosovo’s Justice minister, Abelard Tahiri posted a message in social networks saying that “I shall do everything I can that this person is brought to justice for the crimes he has committed”. /balkaneu.com/
