Minister of Finance, Avdullah Hoti and governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza have delivered a press conference today on the occasion of the conclusion of the joint visit to Washington, where they had meetings with senior representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB).

Minister Hoti said that Kosovo needs funds and not financial stability. “Kosovo needs funds and not macro-fiscal stability, because the country already has this”, Hoti said.

Hoti added that after the talks with the IMF, they have also talked with the World Bank which is convinced that it will secure funds for Kosovo.

But, he has not unveiled concrete figures. “We have agreed on programs and the amount is decided in cooperation with IMF”, he said.

The governor of the Central Bank, Bedri Hamza also talked about the financial stability of Kosovo. He said that Kosovo needs cooperation with IMF in order to obtain funds.

“It’s not a matter of having macro-fiscal and financial stability, but to have joint programs with the IMF in order to cooperate with other institutions and have their support in terms of funds”, Hamza said. /ibna/
