A conference is being held today in Pristina dubbed “Priorities of Netherlands in the EU Council at the focus of Western Balkans and Kosovo”.
In this activity, minister of Integration, Bekim Collaku declared that in spite of these numerous challenges, Kosovo continues to remain the focus of the EU.
“I’m glad that in spite of the EU challenges, the EU is still focused on Western Balkans and Kosovo. This year, with the entry in force of SAA and the recommendation for the lifting of the visa regime, there have been positive transformations in the path of integration”, Collaku declared.
He said that the focus of the institutions of Kosovo until EU accession, will be the full implementation of SAA.
“Our aim is to apply for EU accession in the three coming years”, he added.
Meanwhile, Dutch ambassador to Kosovo, Gerrie Willems, confirmed that her country remains focused in the Western Balkans and Kosovo.
“We are committed in respecting EU values, rule of law and human rights”, Williems said.
She said that Holland will always be Kosovo’s partner in the European path, but according to her, rule of law is very important.
“SAA’s implementation will be a booster for Kosovo in its EU integration path. Commitment and implementation of the reforms are important elements for EU accession. Another element is communication with the citizens”, Willems said. /balkaneu.com/
