Kosovo is an example for the entire region for the approach that it has shows toward global challenges, such as extremism and radicalism.
This was said today by the president of the country, Atifete Jahjaga in a meeting held with the deputy speaker of the European Parliament, Ulrike Lunacek.
“Kosovo’s challenges are similar to those of the countries of the region, which aim at the integration in the European Union and stressed the commitment of the institutions of Kosovo in overcoming them and in offering better living conditions for its citizens”, Jahjaga said.
Jahjaga said that Kosovo’s institutions are committed in the fight against corruption and organized crime and rule of law, stressing that in this aspect, Kosovo is an example for the entire region.
With the senior European official, president Jahjaga also talked about the process of dialogue with Serbia, where once again, she stressed the importance of the implementation of agreements reached in this process.
Jahjaga also stressed the stance of the institutions of Kosovo in building up good relations with neighboring countries, including Serbia.
Speaking on the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force into the Armed Forces of Kosovo, president Jahjaga said that the decision to set up this force has been made after reviewing the security domain and in close cooperation with NATO.
On her part, deputy speaker of the European Parliament, Ulrike Lunacek, expressed the constant support of this institution for the clear European perspective of Kosovo.
She praised the role of President Jahjaga in creating a positive image of Kosovo in the international arena and her contribution in the domestic developments in the country. /ibna/
