Kosovo’s accession in the UNESCO is now on its way and the country is soon expected to be a member of this organization.

Republic of Kosovo participated in the activity “World Heritage Volunteers” in Weimar, Germany.

The lead representative from Kosovo was Isuf Koci, official of cultural heritage in the Kosovo Committee for Cultural Heritage.

World Heritage Volunteers is an incentive launched in 2008 and it operates in the framework of UNESCO.

The scope of this incentive is for young people from different world organizations to be engaged in promoting cultural heritage.

From 2008 until today, this incentive has delivered over 220 different projects in more than 100 world cultural heritage sites, with the participation of 3500 voluntaries from 45 countries of the world.

These activities are delivered in world heritage sites and sites which are under temporary protection by UNESCO.

Given that Kosovo is not yet part of UNESCO, the participation of the representatives of Kosovo in these activities is a sign that accession is close now. /ibna/
