The Presidency of the Assembly of Kosovo has today set August 22 as the date for the dissolution of the Assembly of Kosovo, where it will go to extraordinary elections.
Speaking after the Presidency meeting, the head of the LDK parliamentary group, Avdullah Hoti, spoke.
“We all agreed that the country should go to a well-prepared election, all institutions take over, we all agreed that on August 22, at 10 o’clock, the Assembly would be dissolved and then all procedures followed ”, declaret head of the LDK parliamentary group Avdullah Hoti.
Chief of NISMA MPs, Bilal Sherifi, said that this date was set at the request of the EU, as they have requested that they have more time to prepare their missions to observe the early elections in the country.
“The end of September, the beginning of October will be the closest time for the early elections, ”said Sheriff.
However, he says after the dissolution of the Assembly it is up to the president at his discretion when deciding to set the date for new elections, recalling the 30-day constitutional deadline.
