President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga met today with general John Allen, Special Presidential Envoy in the Global Coalition Against ISIS, where Kosovo is part.
During this meeting, president Jahjaga briefed general Allen on the action taken by the institutions of Kosovo and security mechanisms to prevent and counter global terrorist threats that ISIS presents along with other terrorist groups.
Jahjaga said that earlier actions of the institutions of Kosovo have turned Kosovo into a model in its approach against this phenomenon.
President Jahjaga expressed her determination and underlined the concrete efforts of the institutions of Kosovo, in order for the country not to harbor terrorist groups or become a source of extremism.
Jahjaga underlined the necessity to coordinate actions and to closely collaborate with the countries of the region with the scope of fighting phenomena which are threatening the stability and security of the country, the region and beyond.
General Allen praised Kosovo’s participation in the global coalition in the fight against ISIS and its participation in the Coalition Work Group.
Allen and president of Kosovo agreed on the importance of exchanging information to help prevent the wave of foreign fighters and discussed a number of ways on how to address communities that may be threatened by radicalism. /ibna/
