President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci has announced a day of mourning today in honor of the former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Bajram Rexhepi who passed away yesterday.
This decision has led to the flags to be raised at half mast in all state institutions of Kosovo, in the country and abroad.
The former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Bajram Rexhepi passed away in Turkey, where he was being treated after a stroke that he suffered in April this year. He was initially treated in Pristina to then be transferred to Turkey.
Born in Mitrovica on 3 June 1954, Mr. Rexhepi worked for a long time as surgeon in that city and during the war, he joined KLA to serve as a surgeon there.
In March 2002, he became the first Prime Minister of Kosovo, following the first general elections taken place there in 2001. He served in this post until 2004. /balkaneu.com/
