Political parties in Kosovo have already registered for the local government elections which will be held on 22 October.
There are 35 political parties, one coalition, 30 civil incentives and 35 independent candidates from all communities that will run for 38 communes in Kosovo.
The registration of political parties in the elections happens at a time when the country is expecting to form new institutions following the June 11 elections, which didn’t produce any majority that would be able to form the institutions of the country.
On Thursday, parliament of Kosovo held a constitutive session, but the winning coalition, PAN, still didn’t manage to secure the 61 votes needed for the election of the speaker of the Assembly.
The session ended amid debates between Self Determination MP, Albin Kurti and leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli.
It is still unclear how the institutions of the country will be formed, while ideas have been proposed for holding roundtables to find a solution out of the political crisis. /balkaneu.com/
