In the absence of domestic production, Kosovo continues to face growth of import and high trade deficit.
Central Bank of Kosovo says that imports amounted to 1,3 billion euros and saw an increase by 8,3%.
“Increase of imports was caused by the increase of the import of metals, machinery, mechanical and electronic parts, import of transport vehicles and the import of food products”, says the report of the Central Bank of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, balance of services amounted to 171.3 million euros until June 2016, a growth of 29,4% as opposed to the previous year.
“The value of total services exported in this period marked an annual growth of 2,3% amounting to 328,7 million euros. In the same period, the value of the imports of services saw a drop of 16,7% and amounted to 157,3 million euros”, the reports says. /balkaneu.com/
