On Friday, the Kosovar administration ratified the 2021 draft budget. The state budget for 2021 provides for a total of 2.4 billion euros, a shrinkage of almost 200 million euros compared to the 2020 budget.
Finance Minister Hykmete Bajrami said the 2021 budget had been drafted with great uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the focus was on economic recovery. After criticizing some of the ministries for budget cuts, Bajrami said that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Finance could not meet all the requests of the ministries. Only one of the ministers was absent from the cabinet meeting on Friday. The draft budget law will be submitted to Parliament for final approval. /ibna
