Kosovo and FYR Macedonia inaugurated today the joint border police center in the border crossing point of Bllaca.

The inauguration was made by the Macedonian Interior Minister, Gordana Jankulovska and Interior Minister of Kosovo, Skender Hyseni. Present in this ceremony was also the OSCE ambassador to Skopje, Ralph Breth and EU Office representatives.

Interior Minister Jankulovska said that the opening of this center is an important project of cross border cooperation between the two countries.

“The opening of this contact center is a proof of the excellent relations between the two countries. We believe that this center has successfully started to operate in order to exchange information and other data as far as cross border cooperation is concerned”, said Jankulovska. She added that this border crossing point saw two million passengers cross it last year.

Kosovo’s Interior Minister, Skender Hyseni said that the opening of this center is leading to an intensification of police cooperation between the two countries. “We believe that this center will help for efficient cross border cooperation. We pledge that there will also be other projects regarding police cooperation and security”, said minister Hyseni.

The two ministers have expressed their gratitude for OSCE mission, which has helped with the preparation and the realization of this project. /ibna/
