Kosovo is focused on boosting cooperation with FYROM in the domain of security.

This was said today by the commander of Kosovo Security Forces, general-vice colonel Rrahman Rama, following a meeting held in Skopje with the head of the Army of FYROM, general Metodija Velicovski.

“We will collaborate in the domain of security. It’s our aim and objective to be part of all international incentives, because this is in the best interest of the countries of the region and Kosovo is very close in the geographical aspect”, Rama declared.

Rama expressed his interest on the experiences of the Macedonian army, gained in the international peacekeeping missions.

“We also discussed on the possibility to exchange information about our experiences, namely the experience that Macedonian units have gained in international peacekeeping missions, because it’s our objective for Kosovo to be part of the peacekeeping missions”, general Rama said.

Meanwhile, his Macedonian counterpart, Velicovski said that: “We insist that regional cooperation between Macedonia and Kosovo becomes concrete in practice. With general Rama, we agreed that all incentives that are part of the smart defence concept, must not remain on paper. We must implement them, bearing in mind that small countries do not have adequate resources to meet all the needs of the armed forces”, Velicovski said.

Velicovski added that the training center of the Macedonian Army in Krivolak, will be open for activities of the Kosovo Security Forces. /ibna/
