On the first day of his visit to Brussels, president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci has had a meeting with NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg.
The meeting discussed the possibility of launching a political dialogue between Kosovo and NATO and cooperation between Kosovo Security Forces (FSK) with the Northern Atlantic Alliance.
Both leaders confirmed their interest for further development of relations between NATO and Kosovo.
President Thaci said that FSK is ready to participate in military drills and also contribute in NATO’s peacekeeping missions, especially in domains where FSK specializes. “Kosovo is determined to become a NATO member”, president Thaci said.
Secretary General Stolteberg and president Thaci talked about Kosovo’s commitment in addressing security challenges such as radicalism and terrorism.
On his part, NATO’s Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg said that KFOR will continue its mission for a safer environment in Kosovo and in order to guarantee freedom of movement for as longs as it’s necessary. /balkaneu.com/
