Time has come for Kosovo to be treated like other countries of the region in the process of European integration.
This is how the minister of Integration of Kosovo, Bekim Collaku started his address in a conference organized in Berlin by the prestigious Aspen institute, dedicated to Western Balkan.
“Kosovo must be treated the same as all neighbors. The process of European integration must not only be restricted in the work of institutions, but it must be something that our citizens must experience directly”, he said.
Collaku said that citizens of Kosovo do not deserve to be isolated from Europe, which hesitates into giving the green light for the visa liberalization regime.
“The visa liberalization process will strengthen the commitment of the European Union for Kosovo, something which would push forward the reformation process and will make the European agenda more dynamic. This would not only be in the best interest of Kosovo, but also of the entire region and Europe itself”, minister Collaku said.
Collaku also thanked the German government and people for their support in the aspect of security, consolidation of institutions and the realization of Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
Present in this event were representatives of the countries of the region, the special German envoy for Western Balkan, Turkey and EFTA’s countries, ambassador Ernst Reichel and the German MP, Ernst Kirchbaum, who is also the head of the parliamentary committee for EU affairs in the German Bundestag. /ibna/
