Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli demanded today more assistance from international partners in Kosovo’s path toward the European Union.

In the meeting dubbed: “How to turn SAA into a process for crucial reforms in the Republic of Kosovo?” he demanded the recognition of Kosovo by five EU member countries which have not yet recognized it.

“We praise the support that we have received from the international community, but at the same time, we demand from the countries which have not recognized Kosovo yet to do this. Recognition has an impact on regional stability”, he said.

As far as SAA is concerned, he said that this is a step in the right direction, while addressing a number of critics against the EU for not granting the liberalization of visas.

“Stabilization and Association Agreement offers us a new perspective and a new market for our businesses. Besides this, we are expecting the liberalization of the visa regime. We cannot understand this delay, because we have met all criteria. We are the only isolated country”, Veseli said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa who was present in this meeting, talked about Kosovo’s European integration process.

“By signing SAA, Kosovo has signed one of the most important documents since the proclamation of our independence. This document gives way to a process of crucial reforms in the path to EU accession”, Mustafa said. /balkaneu.com/
