The government of the Republic of Kosovo has taken under consideration the declaration issued today by the EU Special Investigative Task Force (SITF) on the independent inquiries over alleged war crimes mentioned in the European Council Report, drafted by Dick Marty in January 2011.

“The government of the Republic of Kosovo has collaborated with SITF during the entire process and will continue to collaborate until the end of these inquiries”, reads the press release.

The press statement also says that this has been reflected by the approval in parliament of the creation of a special chamber in the framework of the legal system of Kosovo, which will address these issues.

“This is the best proof that Kosovo is ruled by the law and that it will continue to take all the necessary steps in full collaboration with international partners during the length of this process”, says the government of Kosovo.

The government of Kosovo also praises the finalization of the work carried out by Clint Williamson, which according to this government, is an important step in addressing individual responsibility and putting an end to other allegations.

“The government of Kosovo continues to be committed in the process of talks for the normalization of relations with Serbia, in the continuation of the European integration process and in the process for the accession in the Nato”, reads the press statement. /ibna/
