Kosovo’s Chess Federation has been accepted in the International Chess Federation.

The news has rejoiced chess players and heads of the Federation and all of those who have contributed for this extraordinary success of Kosovar chess.

Chess player, Agim Shemsiu told IBNA that the internationalization of chess will help them achieve great successes in this sport.

“It’s a very good opportunity. Kosovo has many professional chess players, who in the near future, will bring many medals and successes in this sport”, he said.

The news has also been confirmed by the minister of Sport, Kujtim Shala.

“This is an important step, which helps and speeds up the internationalization of Kosovo sport in the international arena”, said minister Shala adding that the ministry that he leads will constantly support sport in Kosovo, especially in affirming it in the international aspect.

2015 has been a very good year in terms of the internationalization of federations, something which is taking place thanks to the acceptance of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo in the International Olympic Committee. /ibna/
