The European festival “Eurosong” hosts have not allowed the use of Kosovo’s national flag during the nights of this cultural event.

Kosovo’s flag has been placed alongside ISIS’ flag and the flags of several other countries which most of the world doesn’t recognize and it is forbidden to be waved in the biggest European music contest.

Eurovision hosts have confirmed for Free Europe Radio that this measure is not against the state of Kosovo or a particular territory, but it has to do with the general rules.

Eurovision’s media commentator, Paul Jordan said that such rule also applies for the Scottish flag.

Kosovo’s flag cannot be in the hands of the participants and the public during the two final nights that will be held in Stockholm, Sweden.

According to the new regulation, the flags that will be allowed only in the Eurovision contest will belong to UN member countries and flags that have been used before such as that of Turkey, Portugal and Romania. /balkaneu.com/
