Kosovo allocates 450 thousand euros for the development of culture in the Presevo Valley

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport of the Republic of Kosovo has signed for the first time a memorandum of cooperation with the Commune of Presevo and Bujanoc.

With this, Kosovo has pledged on helping the Albanians of the Presevo Valley with 450 thousand euros in order to support cultural activities of the two communes.

During his stay in Presevo, Minister of Culture Kujtim Shala said that the financial support aims at realizing a number of activities in the domain of theater, stage and musical art and literature.

In the meeting that minister Shala had with the mayor of Presevo, Ragmi Mustafa, the former said that through this memorandum, Kosovo’s Ministry of Culture wants to help the cultural life in Presevo.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Presevo, Ragmi Mustafa informed his guest about the problems that Albanians of the Valley face, by also stressing the problems with the education in Albanian and other injustices and discrimination that they face by central government.

“We expect our institutional cooperation to be lifted in a regional level with concrete results, bearing in mind that Kosovo is now an important factor in the Balkan and as a state which is holding talks with Belgrade in Brussels, it has sufficient power to support the Albanians of the Valley of Presevo”, Mustafa said. /ibna/
