European Union will invest in Kosovo 1 billion Euros in infrastructural projects.
This was said by the Minister of European Integration, Bekim Collaku in the preparative meeting of the National Committee for Investments.
According to Collaku, the EU has now allocated these funds. He said that this committee met today with the aim of discussing key infrastructural investments and the joint funding of projects by the European Union.
“We now have a new momentum in the framework of the European agenda for the Western Balkan in the aspect of infrastructural investments and as a result, the growth of economic and social aid for the Western Balkan countries. The European Union has allocated 1 billion Euros for the funding of infrastructural works that will stem from the Berlin process”, declared Collaku.
Minister of Finance, Avdullah Hoti says that he sees the role of the national committee for investments as very interesting.
“This committee will review the details of the priorities in the domain of energy and road infrastructure. Accession of Kosovo in the IMF, EBRD and other international organizations are a good opportunity for the funding of capital projects through development loans. As a ministry, we are committed to invest in projects which have a better investment return”, Hoti declared.
Present in the meeting was also the director for Western Balkan at the General Directorate for European Neighboring Policies and Negotiations for Expansion, Jean-Eric Paquet.
Paquet said that the national committee for investments has given technical assistance for the delivery of important projects that will facilitate the life of the citizens of Kosovo.
The meetings of the National Committees for Investments are forums which have been created in the framework of obligations stemming from the Berlin Process, which secure monitoring for the projects and implementation on a country level. /ibna/
