Kosovo’s Athletics Association (FAK) set up on 21 September 1991, has been recognized and accepted during the convention in Switzerland as the 51st member of the European Athletics Association (EAA).
During the congress that was held in Lausanne, the youngest state of Europe marked another success, which FAK considered as a historical day for the country’s sport.
The head of FAK, Halil Sylejmani, declared today from Switzerland, said that this is a big historical success.
“This decision offers us a chance to develop athletics in Kosovo, but it’s also a challenge that we must all address with the capacities that we have”.
Accession in this association comes after the accession of FAK in the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), on August 19, 2015.
At the moment, FAK has another objective, to become a member of the Balkan Union of Athletics. /ibna/
