The reviewing of the legal framework for national policies which aims at recognizing women raped during the war as victims of sexual violence, offer healthcare services for victims of violence and offer support for these victims.
These are three recommendations that the Kosovo Center for the Rehabilitation of Survivors of Violence (QKRMT) has submitted during a meeting on the World Day against sexual violence in conflicts.
Feride Rushiti, head of QKRMT said that for 15 years, the organizations which have advocated for these victims are the only ones engaged in recognizing these victims.
Former president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga said that the path to arrive where we are today was long. She said that Kosovo has experienced delays in recognizing violence of sexual violence during the war.
The commission for the recognition of victims of sexual violence in Kosovo has been formed and victims will legally be able to seek their rights through the law. /balkaneu.com/
