The US ambassador to Pristina, Philip Kosnett said on Wednesday that war criminals have no place in the government of Kosovo, while calling on Kosovo’s leaders not to support such individuals.
Kosnett made these comments on Twitter, echoing a statement issued by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Kosovo and Serbia, which condemned the appointment of the former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Sylejman Selimi as advisor to PM Ramush Haradinaj.
Ambassador Kosnett wrote that “convicted war criminals have no place in Kosovo’s government. Leaders of all parties should stop supporting such individuals. Such support calls into question Kosovo’s commitment to the rule of law. Pleased to see groups from different communities speaking out in unison.” /ibna/
