There is strong evidence that a significant part of the Greek debt is illegal and should be annulled, as it is linked with corruption agreements, said the chairman of the House Zoe Konstantopoulou in an interview to the Russian financial newspaper ‘Komersant’, on the occasion of her visit to Russia for the anniversary celebration of the 70 years of the anti-fascist victory.

Konstantopoulou referred to the creation of the Truth Commission for Debt, estimating that the preliminary findings will be ready around June, while the full report will require at least a year.

The unlawfulness of the Greek debt, stressed the House Speaker, is also associated with “procedures and agreements in breach of the Greek Constitution and international obligations of Greece, in the field of human rights”.
