The international peacekeeping force in Kosovo (KFOR) has announced its contribution to the effective development of Serbian elections in Serb-populated residential areas in Kosovo, in support of the OSCE and local security providers.
While static and mobile presence of KFOR was guaranteed near eight important ballot collection centres identified by the OSCE, coordination with the Kosovo Police, EULEX and OSCE was excellent, this force announces through a statement.
“In accordance with its current mandate, KFOR continues to act impartially, prudently and firmly to contribute in maintaining a peaceful environment for the safety of all people of Kosovo,” says the statement.
Presidential elections in Serbia were held on Sunday, where 11 candidates were in the race, but the current Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic won the elections.
