KFOR: Kosovo is a safe and stable country

Commander of the KFOR Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo, PaoloFigliuolo declared today that Kosovo is a safe and stable country.

He said that security in the country has grown thanks to the work of the institutions of Kosovo and as a result, KFOR forces are ten times smaller than in 1999.

“It’s been a year of progress and I would like to express my positive opinion about the work of the people of this institution. Today, KFOR is smaller than in 1999 and security in Kosovo is 10 times better. KFOR has been committed for peace and security in Kosovo”, he said during the ceremony of the delivery of post to general Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta.

Meanwhile, president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, who was present in this ceremony, said that the change of command of KFOR forces in Kosovo, marks a powerful symbolic in the commitment of the peacekeeping force in the country.

“Our partnership is the path to success. This partnership has helped Kosovo in building Kosovo Security Forces and this partnership has helped this Force to deliver its operational capacity in order to turn into a defence force and reflect the ethnic composition of Kosovo”, Jahjaga said.

President Jahjaga has honored commander of KFOR, Franceso Paolo Figliuolo with the Military Medal for Service in Kosovo.

Figliuolo has served as KFOR commander since September 2014. /ibna/
