The signing of agreements with Serbia and Montenegro have our support and that of the US president, Barack Obama. They do not threaten Kosovo’s sovereignty.

This is how the US Secretary of State, John Kerry opened his speech in a joint news conference with PM Isa Mustafa in the Pristina airport.

Kerri talked about the importance of Kosovo’s Euro integration process.

“The signing of Stabilization and Association Agreement is a big step in the integration of Kosovo and this process is advancing well”, said the US senior official.

Kerry also apologized for his short visit, promising that he will visit Kosovo again. “My visit here is short, because I will immediately travel to Belgrade to talk about dialogue. In the meeting that I had with Thaci, Mustafa and Stojanovic, we talked about economy, challenges in parliament and many possibilities”.

Meanwhile, PM Isa Mustafa said that through the help of our allies and partners, Kosovo will continue its path toward Euro Atlantic integration.

Kerry’s visit to Kosovo takes place at a time when there’s a political crisis in Kosovo, due to the tense reports between majority and opposition. The latter is contesting the agreement for the setting up of the Association of Serb Communes and that for the border demarcation with Montenegro, considering it as damaging for Kosovo.

Kosovo is also facing the problem of the participation of its citizens in the conflicts of Syria and Iraq, fighting along internationally known terrorist groups. /ibna/
