Karakachanov: The new Government could not include Borissov

Bulgarian Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Krasimir Karakachanov did not rule out the possibility of forming a government without Boyko Borissov as prime minister, according to statements he made from Burgas.

The Minister of Defense visited the Black Sea city to attend the international military exercise “Breeze 2020”, which was also attended by President Rumen Radev.

The Minister of Defense commented that it was a possibility that the new cabinet would not include Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. However, this will be discussed after the vote on the motion of censure filed by the main opposition against the government.

Karakachanov also added that he would resign if the governors, the coalition council or the prime minister felt he had failed in his duties as Defense Minister.

As he said, priority should be given to the existing program. Regarding the protests across the country, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the government should heard more society’s expectations.

During the exercise, the Minister of Defense announced that a contract would be signed for two new warships by October this year. “The process is over.
