The new data resulting from the cooperation with the US are staggering and require to reopen all cases on war reparations, even those that have been adjudicated in the past, Panos Kammenos said Monday, at an event held at the Greek Pentagon.
He said that the data from the file of Wehrmacht refer to every village and every town, as well as on specific individuals and families. Defence Minister pointed out that Greece will not back down on this issue, and added that the claim of reparations is not linked to the issue of debt.
“There is nothing in common with the issue of Greece’s debt, it is about historic memory and justice. We at the National Defence Ministry have started this work under Deputy Minister, Ysihos.
The data that have emerged, especially from the files of the Wehrmacht we received from the US are staggering. They refer to each village, mention each city. The refer to persons, refer to families. Such data require all cases even those who have tried in the past to reopen”, Kammenos stressed, according to Mega television.
