Prosecution of Skopje has launched charges against journalist Zoran Bozinovski. He’s accused of espionage, threats and other criminal charges. Bozinovski was arrested on 21 April in Novi Sad by Serb authorities and a day after, he was extradited to Skopje.
He is part of a group suspected of espionage and cooperation with foreign secret services in the case name coded “Spy”. In 2013, the group was arrested and it was made up of journalists, lawyers, police officials and former police officers.
Bozinovski is also accused for the publication of documents and materials which are suspected to have been distributed unlawfully.
Association of Journalists in the country has condemned Bozinovski’s arrest, by demanding protection for him. International Federation of Journalists, has approved an urgent resolution during its 29th Congress held in 7-10 June in the city of Angers in France, through which it condemns authorities in FYROM for the arrest of journalist Zoran Bozinvski.
IFJ said that it will support the Association of Journalists in protecting the freedom of media and rights of journalists. /balkaneu.com/
