January 21 case reaches the Appeal Court

Four months after the Court of Tirana acquitted the defendants for the murder of 4 demonstrators during the January 21, 2013 protests, Court of Appeal decided the date for the first session which will examine this ruling.

After the draw taken place today, July 19 has been determined as the date when the Court of Appeal will examine this case, where defendants Ndrea Prendi, Agim Llupo and Margarit Kume were acquitted.

The abovementioned defendants were accused of killing protestors Aleks Nikaj, Ziver Veizi, Hekuran Deda and Faik Myrtaj, but the Court of First Instance acquitted them.

The ruling of the Court of First Instance was appealed by Prosecution, which demanded conviction of the defendants with imprisonment. /ibna/
